Metzger is known for her groundbreaking novel, A TRICK OF THE LIGHT, published in 2013 by HarperCollins, which was recognized as one of the 2014 Best Fiction for Young Adults by the Young Adult Services and the American Library Association. The novel innovatively discusses the taboo: male eating disorders and mental health. Metzger’s most recent novel, CHANGE PLACES WITH ME, published in 2016 by HarperCollins, is a work of speculative fiction that follows a teen girl as she gains a new perspective on who she is. Based in Manhattan, Metzger was born and raised in Queens, where she sets many of her books.
